Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need rain gutters?
Yes. Left unprotected, rain water discharging from the house can lead to several problems: cracks in foundation or walkways, water getting into basements, land erosion, back splashing on the house causing rot to clapboards, trim and kick plates and icy, dangerous conditions in the winter.
Should I repair or replace my gutters?
Re-attaching, re-pitching or resealing can often repair existing gutters. However, once gutters show signs of rusting though, the only long term solution is to replace them.
Are steel gutters better than aluminum gutters?
No. Even though the two are similar in many ways and installed virtually the same way steel gutters still rust over time. This accounts for approximately 67% of all gutter replacement.
What’s the difference in gutters? Aren’t they all the same?
There is a huge difference in gutters. You can purchase steel or vinyl gutters from a local supply house, they usually come in 10′ lengths and are assembled using couplers. These are ok if it is all you can afford, however most leak at every joint and corner. Seamless or continuous gutters are typically roll formed on site and custom fit to each dimension of the house, with no joints between corners to leak from.
What type of gutters do you offer?
5″ and 6″ K-style gutters are the most frequent installed. Half-round and coppers are available on special request; the cost of these will vary depending on the copper market. Although K-style gutters are seamless, half round gutters are not.
Can I get them colored?
Yes. We have 13 colors to choose from and they are also paintable.
How long does it take to install gutters on a house?
The time it takes varies greatly depending on the size of the home. Most jobs can be completed in a day or less.
